PHOTO OF THE DAY: Villarreal B (Villarreal U23s) pose for their official photo

The international break has now started, with seven men’s first team players representing their countries. They are Pau Torres, Santi Cazorla, Gerard Moreno and Raúl Albiol for Spain, Karl Toko Ekambi and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa for Cameroon and Samu Chukwueze for Nigeria. Check out their schedule here.

Speaking of Pau Torres, he got his first goal for the club on Saturday. It rounded off a great week for him, which also saw him sign a new contract until 2024, becoming the first person from Vila-real to be called up to the Spain squad. We have a new Medium feature on him which you can read here.

This weekend saw the men’s first team get an unlucky 2–1 loss at a difficult stadium to Osasuna, who hadn’t lost for 28 games at home. Read the match report here and Javi Calleja’s verdict here. You can watch the highlights here.

Villarreal U23s (Villarreal B) also came away with a result that didn’t reflect their match, drawing 1–1 to Ebro. Read the match report here and watch the highlights here. You can see the full weekend results here.

The Mini Submarine have also released the official 2019/20 photo today. You can download that here.

As part of the Endavant ‘A Star In Your School0 scheme, two first-team players, Carlos Bacca from the men’s first team and Maria Sanjuán from the women’s first team have visited a local school to meet the children. See highlights of that here.

And finally, official fan clubs will get the chance to meet the new summer signings in an official meal tomorrow. More details here.
