Villarreal made it three wins from their last three LaLiga games on Sunday, with the first match since the Christmas break, beating Real Sociedad 1–2 thanks to goals from Manu Trigueros and Santi Cazorla. It was also a good weekend for Villarreal U23s (Villarreal B) who beat league leaders CE Sabadell 2–0. Álex Millan and Edu Espiau got the goals for the Mini Submarine. Read the match report here.
Villarreal Women also won their first match of 2019, beating CFF Cáceres thanks to goals from Lara Mata, Sara Medina and Aixa Salvador.
Speaking of Villarreal Women, we’ve also had some good news on the international stage, with Salma Paralluelo being called up by Spain U17s. More details here.
She isn’t the only Villarreal player who has been named in a Spain youth squad though, with Álex Baena, Iván Morante and Nacho Nicolau set to represent Spain U19s and U17s. More details here.
