Villarreal have a new striker! Paco Alcácer has joined the Yellows from Borussia Dortmund on a five-and-a-half-year deal. The 26-year-old is a Spain striker and has previously played for Valencia and Barcelona, as well as the German club. More details here.
Yesterday, the Yellows were also in Copa del Rey action, beating Rayo Vallecano 0–2 thanks to goals from Fer Niño and Santi Cazorla. That was the 19-year-old forward’s second goal in two games, and the midfielder’s tenth goal of the season. The victory means Villarreal are now in the quarter-final. Yeremi Pino and Aitor Gelardo also returned to international action with Spain U18s in the Copa del Atlántico, both featuring in the 2–0 win over Japan. Details here.
