Villarreal round-up — your regular updates about the Yellow Submarine, teams and accomplishments. Curated content with a quick inside view of our club. Let’s keep moving forward, let’s ENDAVANT!
As this COVID-19 pandemic continues, all football activity in Spain is still at a halt. Villarreal CF wants to give something back to the community, to help in this crisis, so the club has launched the #CuentaConmigo (Count On Me) campaign, alongside the men’s first team and the Fundación Carlos Bacca, pledging to provide 200 meals every day, cooked at the Estadio de la Cerámica, for a local charity, who will give them to those who most need it in these tough times. Read the official launch here and see what Carlos Bacca has to say about it here.
In the fight against the coronavirus, LaLiga has also organised a charity music festival, with more than 30 international artists performing at home. There will also be representatives from the 20 top-flight clubs in Spain. Villarreal’s will be Santi Cazorla. Don’t miss out! It’s bound to be great. More details, including how to watch, are here.
On the official club website, we also have a feature on our Benjamín F side, one of our U9 teams, which is worth a read. Check that out here.
We’ve also had a look at how successful one of our Endavant programmes, Endavant Club Groguet has been. It has reached more than 2,500 children in nearby towns so far this season. More details here.
And finally, as we’ve been doing since the break in action, we’ve also been looking back at some historical moments in Villarreal’s history. First up, we remembered a memorable comeback against Valencia in the Copa del Rey (here), before remembering the signing of Argentine legend Martín Palermo (here).
