Villarreal round-up — your regular updates about the Yellow Submarine, teams and accomplishments. Curated content with a quick inside view of our club. Let’s keep moving forward, let’s ENDAVANT!

PHOTO OF THE DAY: Bruno Soriano; Santi Cazorla and Sergio Asenjo, all examples of overcoming serious injuries, pose for the front cover of Spanish national sports paper Marca.

Since Bruno Soriano’s return from injury three years later, he has been the biggest story in Spanish football. So big in fact, he’s made the front page of Marca today, alongside Santi Cazorla and Sergio Asenjo, who have both overcome injuries. Marca is Spanish daily sports paper, which is based in Madrid and largely Real Madrid focused, so when three Villarreal players fill the front page, it’s a big deal. You can read the article and chat with them on the Marca website here. There’s also a great feature on Bruno in the English newspaper The Guardian, which can be found here.

But of course, Bruno’s return hasn’t taken the Yellows’ focus away from the league, with a spot in Europe next season the aim. Next up is a massive game, against local rivals Valencia, who are also a rival for the European spots. Kick-off at the Estadio de la Cerámica is 5pm CEST on Sunday. See what midfielder Vicente Iborra (here) and manager Javi Calleja (here) have to say before the game.

Villarreal have also confirmed that we will continue to work with Joma, who have been supplying our kits since 2016, originally on a four-year contract, but that has not been extended. More on that here.

Villarreal Women have also made three signings this week. Mexican forward Rubí Soto from Chivas (more here), defender Paula Arce from Levante (more here) and forward Sara Martínez, also from Levante (more here).
