Villarreal men’s first team beat Levante 2–1 in LaLiga to move up to sixth in the table. The Yellows goals came from academy products Gerard Moreno and Moi Gómez. You can read the match report here and watch the highlights here. Read post-match analysis from defender Ramiro Funes Mori here.

The match also saw Sergio Asenjo reach his 200th game for Villarreal, a great achievement. Read more about that here.

There were also a number of events at the Estadio de la Cerámica for fans to enjoy. Benicàssim took centre stage as part of Endavant Provincía (more here), there was another ‘3v3 Groguet’ tournament (details here) and there was a performance as part of the Groc Talent contest (more here). Before the game, both teams also took a picture with children from children’s cancer charity ASPANION to raise awareness of childhood cancer. Details here.

Of course, the men’s first team were not the only side in action this weekend. Villarreal B (Villarreal U23s) maintained their unbeaten record in 2020, defeating Andorra 2–1 thanks to goals from Rafa Mújica and Sergio Lozano. Read the match report here and watch the highlights here.
