PHOTO OF THE DAY: Gerard Moreno, Pau Torres and Alberto Moreno model the new Villarreal kits for the 2020/21 season

We’ve still got two games left of the 2019/20 season but the kits for the 2020/21 are now out. Watch the launch video here, featuring men’s first-team players Gerard Moreno, Pau Torres and Alberto Moreno, as well as women’s first-team players Salma Paralluelo and Cristina Diaz. You can also see the kits in full here.

Villarreal were in action on Monday night, losing 1–2 at home to Real Sociedad. The Yellows’ goal was scored by Santi Cazorla. You can read the match report here, watch the highlights here and get manager Javi Calleja’s post-match verdict here.

The men’s first team need just one point from the last two games of the season to reach their goal of securing European football for next season. A tough game is ahead of them tomorrow evening (9pm CEST) though, away to Real Madrid, who know a win will secure them the league title. Read Calleja’s pre-match comments here and see the key statistics before the game here.

Finally, the coaching staff for Villarreal U23s (Villarreal B), Villarreal U21s (Villarreal C) and Villarreal U19s (Juvenil A) have been confirmed for next season. Miguel Álvarez will stay as U23s head coach, while Miguel Ángel Tena and Pere Martí have swapped roles. Tena is now the U21s head coach and Martí is the U19s head coach. More on that here.
