Mukwelle Akale’s lowdown on his team-mates
Every year since he joined Villarreal in 2016, US youth international Mukwelle Akale has been progressing.
He is in his second year with the Villarreal B team, with the Mini Submarine aiming for promotion to the second tier of Spanish football, after falling just short of the promotion play-offs last season.
Last season, the 22-year-old sat down with us to talk about his background, which you can read here. We sat down with him recently to get the lowdown on his Villarreal B team-mates.
Who’s your best mate at the club?
I wouldn’t say I have a best mate. I like hanging out with a bunch of different people and team-mates. I mean they all give you different things and they’re all fun to be with, so I won’t pick the best one, I like most of my team-mates.
Who’s the FIFA king?
The best at FIFA? I know a lot of the younger kids on the team play a lot, I’d have to give it to Pacheco (Iván Martin) or Sergio Lozano.
Who’s the worst dressed?
I’d have to give that to Capi (Ramón Bueno), I’m not going to say his name out loud so he doesn’t hear me!
Who’s the dressing room DJ?
Diego Fuoli, always, always plays the music. Even if it’s bad, he’ll play it.
Who’s the most skilful?
Most skilful? On the team I’d have to say it’s between me and Pacheco.
Who’s the best cook?
Ah that’s obvious, that’s me. See, if you follow me on Instagram, you can see that I post all my dinners and lunches and they’re quality.
Who’s the worst cook?
I’d have to say half the team because they just order food in. I don’t see anyone nobody the team cooking, so it has to be half the team are the worst together.
Who’s got the worst tattoo?
Right now, the worst tattoo has to be Alejandro Millán. He has something on his back which you can’t tell what it is because it’s not finished, it’s just lines, it looks bad. But it’s not finished yet, I’ll give him that.
Who never puts their phone down?
That’s Diego Fuoli too, I think he’s been fined like 10 times with the phone now and we can’t have the phones in the locker room, but he always has his. I don’t know who he’s talking to, must be his girlfriend!
Who’s got the best dance moves?
Me. I don’t think anybody else dances. Everyone else moves their hips but I’m the only one who does any dance moves.
Who is going to make the best manager?
I’d say Sofian Chakla, because he’s the most disciplined, most leader like and serious.
