Once more, it was a busy weekend of pre-season action. The men’s first team played Schalke 04 on Friday night, and despite a hard-fought performance, went down with a 3–1 defeat.
That was the last game of the pre-season camp in Austria, and you can watch a summary of the camp in 100 seconds here.
After flying back from Austria on Saturday , the men’s first team had Sunday and Monday off, before returning on Tuesday. Someone who did return today, however, was Samu Chukwueze, who is back with the Yellows after finishing third in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
The men’s first team weren’t the only side in action this weekend either, with the Villarreal Ladies First Team taking part in the COTIF tournament in L’Alcúdia. Villarreal B (Villarreal U23s) also were in pre-season action, losing 2–1 to Levante Atlético.
